NCHS Football: Eagles holding on Friday night the Eagles let one slip through their fingers. After leading most of the contest the eagles gave up two late touchdowns and were defeated by Tri-cities High school 35-28. .The team moved to 4-2, with three shut outs. The eagles next game will be Friday night Oct 14th versus Mt Zion at Southern Crescent Stadium. Coach Wiltz said the team just lost its focuslate in the game. "We turned the ball over at critical times and that will cost you.We played well enough to win, but could not hold on in the last miniutes. Injuries continue tp plague the eagles as they go into the second half of the season. |
Softball : Looking for Success in 2011The North Clayton High School Lady Eagles Softball Team were looking forward to an exciting and successful season, but the Lady Eagles finished the 2011 with a record of 6-10. Coach Green says the team worked hard this season but came up short of its goals.The Lady Eagles returned only 4 seniors from last year's team. Green says, the girls have shown a tremendous amount of dedication to preparation. They have a thirst for learning the game a desire to get better. The Lady eagles are looking forward to reaching new heights. This year the junior varsity team participated in the new region. Coach Green says, we have goals of exposing our team to collegiate level athletic scholarships. The Lady softball eagles finished to . Volleyball : 2011The North Clayton High School Lady Eagles Volleyball Team looked forward to another exciting and successful season, but fell short. The Lady Eagles led by New Head Coach Dr.Vickie Mangram worked hard but played inconsistent throughout the year. Coach Mangram says the team focused on fundamentals but still needs some work. This year's JV team showed promised, but only time will tell. The Lady Eagles finished the season.
Cross Country : 2011Coach Martisse Troup was pleasantly surprised by this yearr's cross country seson. Severa of NCHS runners finished in the top twenty.The boys were led by Melvin Wilson who placed first in 75% of this year's meets. The girls also had a great outing. Precious Gibson and Tobi Lawal led the way for the girls, finishing in the top fiften. Good job Cross Country eagles.

NCHS Annual Golf Tournament - May 2011 NCHS will be putting on its annual benefit golf tournament. In the past we had a number of golfers, friends and celebrities show up and make it a great day. Mr. Ken Stackhouse,past Booster club president and NCHS athletic dept did a great job promoting the event. We raised over $4000 dollars which went towards the renovations of the NCHS Wellness center.
